SEARCA, AFA to hold Virtual Policy Forum for Family Farming

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), and the Asian Farmers’ Association For Sustainable Rural Development (AFA) are inviting farmers’ organizations, the academe, civil-society organizations, and research institutions to join  virtual regional policy forum entitled, “Developing Public Policies for Family Farming: Reaching Out to the Grassroots through Participatory Policy Making” on April 27, 8AM (ICT)/ 9AM (Manila Time).

This online event aims to provide a venue to identify and analyze the enabling factors and constraints to participatory policy making and how such a bottom-up approach can help ensure policy objectives are met and translated into equitable and sustainable benefits for its intended beneficiaries, primarily the farmers and farming families.

AFA is a steering committee member of ComDev Asia, a regional initiative that promotes Communication for Development (ComDev) in the Asia-Pacific region and supports the implementation of a regional Participatory Communication Plan (PCP) within the framework of the United Nations Decade of Family Farming (UNDFF, 2019-2028).
