Webinar on Gender Integration in Farmer Field Schools (FFS) on May 30

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization and CARE are organizing a webinar to share the latest findings of their joint study on gender integration in Farmer Field School (FFS) programs on 30 May 2024, 11:30 – 13:00 (GMT+2). This virtual event aims to enlighten us on empowering outcomes of FFS such as improved access to services, better time management, and enhanced decision-making capacities, particularly for women.

Farmer Field Schools (FFS) have emerged as a powerful tool to break down these barriers and empower women in agricultural communities. To do so, FFS have developed gender specific tools, methodologies, good practices, and synergies with complementary approaches. In many countries, women remained to be an unrecognized driving force of agrifood systems, yet they often face barriers to full participation in decision-making and income-generating activities. FFS have the potential to break down gender barriers, merge gender gaps, and empower women to actively participate in farm management, decision-making, and leadership roles.

The event will be held in English and in French. To attend and participate to this webinar, register here.
