It can be used as a tool to promote more inclusive and sustainable development processes, mirroring local realities, and helping a wide array of stakeholders share knowledge and make informed decisions about specific challenges and opportunities.

PV Case Studies

The process of video production in a community or a larger territory is an inclusive, participatory process that begins, develops and ends with the people of the community or territory. This is an accordance with the ComDev model, which engenders community participation and ownership, and seeks to create content that is accessible and relevant to the people.

The selected case studies demonstrate how the PV production process is conducted in different areas of the world and how PV is used to highlight important issues in society as seen through the eyes of the people who live through them.

The project explores how PV empowers youth in Vietnam to analyze and improve local food environments. This case study is part of CGIAR’s new research initiative, Sustainability Healthy Diets through Food Systems Transformation (SHiFT).

The UPAVAN project is an intervention-based research targeted towards women’s groups in Odisha, India. Its primary aim is to improve maternal and child nutrition through a combination of PV and women’s group meetings.

Professors from UPLB College of Development Communication conducted a study exploring effectiveness of PV as a capacity-building tool among youth participants from Brgy. San Antonio, Bay Laguna.
