The process of video production in a community or a larger territory is an inclusive, participatory process that begins, develops and ends with the people of the community or territory. This is an accordance with the ComDev model which engenders community participation and ownership, and seeks to create content that is accessible and relevant to the people.

The selected case studies demonstrate how the PV production process has been conducted in different areas of the world and how PV is used to highlight important issues in society as seen through the eyes of the people who lived through them.

The guide is a part of a modular training series, but can be used as a stand-alone resource for self-learning. It is intended for use by communication practitioners, farmer and civil society organizations, field workers, extension services, farmer field schools and innovation brokers.

A Community of Practice (CoP) is essential for maintaining continues engagement with participants, offering space for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collective problem solving.

All participants and targeted project organizations, and institutions are enjoined to be part of the CoP. These include technical staff, development workers, and communication practitioners involved in extension services and farmer field schools (FFS) who are responsible for applying video for agricultural innovation and rural development.
