The Lao Farmer Network (LFN) has successfully organized a policy dialogue focusing on issues concerning bank transactions of Farmers’ Organizations (FOs). The event was attended by farmers’ organizations, the bank of Laos, commercial banks, and other stakeholders. Opening bank accounts under the name of production groups has been a problem for LFN members due to different requirements and difficulty to comply with. LFN has already requested the banks to issue a guideline a reference for a countrywide implementation. For more details, please read the article of Asia Pacific Farmers’ Forum here.
