AMARC Asia-Pacific launches community mapping handbook for community radios

AMARC Asia-Pacific, the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters in the Asia-Pacific Region, has launched a new community mapping handbook that can be used by community radio stations and community broadcasters in developing programs of, with, by, and for the community.

The handbook, titled Know Your Community, aims to enable community radio program producers “to better understand the needs, wants, and preferences of their target audience, particularly marginalized and underserved communities.”

The handbook contains a step-by-step guide from planning to community consultations to identification of persistent poverty-related problems in the community and how radio programs can help communities address these problems.

You may access the handbook here.
