AFA, FO’s to convene for UN Food Systems Global Summit Dialogue
The Asian Farmers’ Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA) is cordially inviting farmers, fishers, pastoralists, producers, and interested groups and organizations to participate in the UN Food Systems Global Summit Dialogue with Farmers, Fishers, Pastoralists and Other Producers. The dialogue will take place virtually on the 12th of July 2021, from 12:00 to 13:50 (CET).
This Global Dialogue will build upon the outcomes of a series of producer-led independent dialogues and will examine the challenges, contributions, responsibilities and expectations of farmers, fishers, pastoralists and others in transforming our food systems with regards to nutrition, climate, biodiversity, livelihoods, resilience and other areas. The outcomes of this Global Dialogue will contribute to the UN Food Systems Summit to advance the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
AFA is one of the steering committee members of ComDev Asia, a regional initiative that promotes Communication for Development in the Asia-Pacific region. Its purpose is to build ComDev capacities and to support rural communication policies and services in the region.
