Establishment of Community of Practice (CoP) in Advancing Resilient Family Farming in AP Region

The ComDev Asia (CDA) has successfully conducted the wrap up session  of the Communication for Development (ComDev) Training, Dec.17. With the theme, “Enhancing Family Farmers’ Communication Capacities in the Asia Pacific-Region, the webinar focused on sharing of experiences on developing the ComDev strategy and the coaching process to facilitate the formulation of the strategy.

Five participating organizations developed the comdev strategy in support of their selected development of comdev project. These are: VNFU (Vietnam National Farmers Union); FECOFUN (Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal);(FECOFUN), AFA-Pambansang Kilusan ng mga Samahang Magsasaka (AFA-PAKISAMA); AFA-Family Farmers’ Agriculture Fisheries Forestry Cooperatives Federation Philippines (AFA-AGRICOOPh), and Digital Green. Each participant organization presented their respective draft comdev strategy plan. The CDA Team from the University of the Philippines Los Baños-College of Development Communication served as coaching facilitators for developing the draft comdev strategy matrix of selected organization.

ComDev Asia has also established the community of practice (CoP) and networking of farmers and producers organizations, community media, and communication practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region. The CoP has been set up on the ComDev Asia website via the Forum section. This forum serves as a platform where CoP members can share their best practices and creating new knowledge in advancing resilient family farming.
