AMARC Asia-Pacific joins call for climate action on World Radio Day celebration

AMARC Asia-Pacific, a regional association of community radio broadcasters in Asia and the Pacific, participates in the annual celebration of the World Radio Day set on February 13. This year, the celebration is dedicated on the role of radio in tackling climate change issues. As UNESCO partner, AMARC Asia-Pacific has released a series of social media cards that narrate the stories and experiences of community radio stations in the region in communicating environmental concepts and topics, including the impact of climate change. In their statement, AMARC Asia-Pacific highlighted the role of community radios from remote villages to urban centers in amplifying local  spreads vital climate information, and empowers communities to take action. 

AMARC Asia-Pacific is one of the steering committee members of the ComDev Asia initiative.
